Léo GUIGEN

Léo Guiguen was born in 1999 and started the cello aged 7 at the conservatory of Rennes.
He entered the “Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique” of Paris when he was 14, in the class of Jérôme Pernoo and Cyrille Lacroutz. He won two years later the 2nd price at the international Louis Rosoor competition in Bordeaux. He played the same year in duet for a TV broadcast with Gautier Capuçon, and performed as soloist with Jerôme Pernoo at Nice and Cagliari international academies. He did a lot in chamber music in different formations with Itamar Golan and Claire Desert, and played several times at MusicaMundi festivals in belgium with Ivry Gitlis and Menahem Pressler. Also, Léo was invited in other festivals, such as Akoesticum festival in Netherlands, Cello Biennale in Amsterdam and Super cello festival in Beijing and regularly plays at “Centre de musique de chambre de Paris”. He recently took advantage of lessons from Gary Hoffman, David Geringas and Philippe Muller.
