Maya AMIR

Third Prize winner of the 2018 Froville International Baroque Singing Competition as well as Silver Prize winner of the 2018 Manhattan International Music Competition. Participated in 2019 Joyce Didonato’s master classes at Carnegie Hall.
She is a Master Degree student specializing in Baroque Music atThe Schola Cantorum Basiliensis under the guidance of Prof. Rosa Dominguez. A Master graduate in opera singing at Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy”. A Bachelor graduate of Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University. Since 2017 Andreas Scholl is one of her appreciated mentors.
Winner of 2015-17 Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) and the American-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF) excellence scholarships. She has taken master classes with René Jacobs, Margreet Honig and Andrea Marcon.
Her concert repertoire includes Handel`s Apollo e Dafne, Marcello`s Arianna Abbandonata, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Magnificat.
Her concert appearance includes Festtage Alte Musik Basel, Israeli Radio Festival, Bach Archiv Leipzig, Teatro Ristori and Eesti Kontsert Tallinn. During 2021, she sees debuts with Baroccade Israeli Baroque Collective in Israel and Italy, Ensemble Avventura in Basel and Hortus Musicus in Estonia. Among her roles: Ruggiero (Alcina), the second of the Three Ladies (Die Zauberflöte), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Aminta (L`Olimpiade), Melindo (La verità in cimento), Svavie (Pastorello Musicale), Aylin in the operetta pastiche Ahoi!…und Gute Nacht!, Venus (Zarzuela: Vendado es Amor, no es ciego), Piacere (Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno), Riccardo (ll Trionfo dell`Onore).

She has recently established her concert program “Night on the Waters” – Mediterranean compositions influenced by classical, Spanish and Arabic music written and composed by Maya and her mother, Aviva Amir. In addition, she has just established Ensemble Avventura with the vision to interpret music written in the 18th century.
