Aware of how lucky he was to have made certain decisive encounters, Philippe Jaroussky wished to to offer the same opportunities to young people.
He thus founded a music academy to share his experience and his passion for classical music, a recognised vector of social and professional integration, with children and young adults.
The Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky is a non-profit organisation. It pursues three main objectives:
- To encourage and democratize the discovery of classical music for wider or ‘non-traditional’ audiences and give young children access to instrumental practice
- To promote the professionalisation of young talents
- To create links between professionals and amateurs, between artistic disciplines and between the general public and regional cultural actors.
The Académie launched its program of actions in September 2017, as part of the opening of the music complex La Seine Musicale on the Seguin island, in the town of Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris.
