The Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky enjoys the privilege of being located at La Seine Musicale; the new “Hauts-de-Seine valley of culture”.
This magnificent complex of buildings opened in April 2017 and was designed by the architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines to enhance access to music for everyone. This complex was planned as a neighbourhood with various poles focused on the world of music and art, sharing, pedagogy and open to the greatest number of people.
The Seine Musicale intends to offer an attractive culture offer open to all generations and to all audiences. Behind this cultural ambition stands the educational and social vocation led by the department: offering, from the very youngest age, the possibility to access culture and to learn to be nourished by its riches.
This is the ideal environment for the young musicians of the Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky to practice music, and blossom in a diversified environment, which is also home to the Maîtrise des Hauts-de-Seine or Insula Orchestra for instance. They also enjoy the use of an outstanding concert hall – the Auditorium, especially designed for classical music, with a capacity of more than 1000 seats.
